Right Answer, Wrong Reason

Some weird-eyed Labour guy (I think it was the Balls one) was just on the telly denouncing DING’s (see! I’m using it) marriage tax breaks idea. Of course, there’s an election looming so Labour have to start distancing themselves from Labour Lite, their mortal enemies. He resorted to think-of-the-childrenism to justify his Clear Red Water, along the lines that it would disadvantage bastards, or something.

Sorry Mr. Labour Guy. You nearly had me there, I’m against it too you see. Unfortunately I don’t think we’re singing from the same hymn sheet. You’re (really) against it because Authoritarian Leftists hate marriage and family units as Orwell correctly predicted and as your term in office has shown. Families provide safe spaces and unsanctioned ideas to be imparted and that stands in the way of your ultimate aim of creating an acquiescent army of drone workers. It’s ok, you can admit it, we’re all adults here.

I’m against it because I don’t think it’s any business of the state to be ‘encouraging’ or ‘discouraging’ or in any other way interfering in relataonships between people. People, left alone, will work it out for themselves, thankyou-very-much.

Sod off. The lot of you.
